Sanctuary tours!

Tours are a big part of our summer here at Surge Sanctuary! We have been doing tours from May to September for the past two years and they've gone so well.

It has always been important for us to get the balance right between having people come to meet our residents whilst also being mindful this is their home and not being too intrusive to them - the last thing we want is to cause them stress unnecessarily. This is why we like doing smaller events, such as HollyFest and Pig Weekender, as well as our summer tours. This way, we are able to ensure there aren't too many people around at one time whilst also getting to share the sanctuary experience with our supporters, which is the best feeling!

Tours are £100 for up to 6 people - these are private tours so you will only be with your group. You will be shown around the sanctuary by some of our wonderful volunteers. Our tours are informal and you are welcome to ask any questions as we go - we genuinely enjoy talking about the animals and the sanctuary so please ask away!

Whilst we are walking around the sanctuary, there will be lots of opportunities to interact with our residents. Let us know if there is anyone you particularly want to see and we will try our best to make it happen! As before, this is the residents' home and we don't force any interactions, but many of the animals are interested in what is going on and will come and investigate! There are residents who are more keen on interaction than others, so please don't be offended if someone doesn't come up to see you - it won't be personal!

Make sure to bring wellies/sensible closed shoes. Even if the weather has been nice, there might be some muddy areas... or a fresh poo we haven't had chance to clean up yet.

There will be opportunity at the end of the tour to buy some of our merch if you're in need of some Surge Sanctuary goodies.

We love being able to welcome supporters to the sanctuary and it's always incredible to see the enthusiasm from you all. The money raised by the tours goes straight back into caring for the animals and is always greatly appreciated.

We can't wait to see more of you for our 2025 tours!
