Meet Pepper, Blackcurrant and Sunshine
Pepper, Blackcurrant and Sunshine are from a school hatching project and were brought to us by a teacher who saved them from going back to the farmer. We’re so excited for them to settle in here. All of the animals are enjoying the sunshine so much and we’re so happy that these boys can join the family.
Three lambs left to die have been rescued, and other updates
We have wonderful news for all of you today, and this is an exclusive for newsletter and blog subscribers - just yesterday we took in three adorable lambs who had been left to perish in a farmer’s field.
A rough week for poorly Paul, but doing well now
You may have seen on our Instagram account that little Paul - one of two ex-dairy calves who along with his pal Roo joined us recently - has been feeling very poorly with bloat. Find out how he is now as plus lots of other updates.
Paul and Roo saved from the dairy industry, meet Kevyn the pig and other news!
It’s been a busy two weeks since our last update - how time flies! - so we’re pleased to introduce you to some new residents plus news of more rescues and updates to our buildings, made possible by your support and generosity.
Welcoming lots of new residents!
We’ve all been keeping ourselves very busy following the sad and untimely passing of dear Gus last month, having welcomed lots of new permanent and temporary residents to the sanctuary.
Remembering Gus
It is with great sadness that we write this tribute to Augustus the Kunekune pig, or simply Gus to everyone who loved him, who passed away last week. We are all still in such profound shock, not least of all because he left us unexpectedly and far too soon.
Say hello to Lisa, Rosé, Jennie and Jisoo!
As for the real stars of the show - our non-human residents - there have been newcomers since launch. We’ve welcomed four new turkeys - Lisa, Rosé, Jennie and Jisoo - who were destined for dinner tables this Christmas just past if they hadn’t found their way to us. You can read more about their story on our Instagram.
