Rabbit adoption form

Please be aware that the rabbits currently in our care have been rescued from a meat and fur farm. They have spent that time in terrible conditions and it is important that as a caregiver you understand the importance of nutrition, and how to look after rabbits with existing health issues or a greater susceptibility to problems in the future. Undertaking the care of a rescued rabbit is a huge responsibility and should be carefully considered.

All of the rabbits have been spayed/neutered, had their Nobivac® Myxo-RHD PLUS vaccination (against Myxomatosis, Rabbit Haemorrhagic Disease 1 & 2), and have been treated for mites. They will only go to their new homes once our small animal vet has deemed them healthy enough to do so.

If you’d like to provide a home for one of the rescued rabbits in our care, please fill in the form and answer a few questions to help us determine if it’ll be a good fit.

We have a responsibility to ensure, to the best of our abilities, that the rabbits will be going to good homes with adequate space and shelter. We would also like to get a feel for your experience of providing care to rabbits, and whether you have thought carefully about costs such as food and vet bills.

Prior experience of caring for rabbits is preferable, but not essential, as we can refer you to resources and groups where you can learn all you need to know.

Please note:

  • All rabbits must be collected from the sanctuary (Nottinghamshire NG16). We are unable to arrange transportation for you.

  • Save the T&S Rabbits fund has helped to cover the medical bills of the organisations who have taken these rabbits into their care, but are unable to help with additional costs (food, bedding, enrichment etc). Therefore, a minimum donation of £30 per rabbit is required, which goes directly to the sanctuary funds to help cover these extra costs. A link to donate will be sent to you when your application to re-home is approved.

  • If your application is successful, on adoption day you will be provided with each rabbit’s vaccination card, list of medical treatments received whilst in our care, as well as any other information we deem to be relevant.
