Celebrating Mother’s Day at the Sanctuary
This Mother’s Day, we want to highlight the story of a mother and daughter duo who live at the sanctuary: Wendy and Willow. They were both neglected and were very malnourished and underweight when they came to us, but Wendy was still trying to produce as much milk as possible for Willow, who was still a small piglet. She absolutely put Willow’s needs before her own, making sure that Willow was fed. Since being rescued, Wendy has taught Willow how to make a good bed, making sure she is always comfy - and now they get to spend all their time together. They love to relax in the sunshine together ☀
We wish that all mothers and children could stay together and have this kind of relationship, but this is not the case for those in the animals industries which breaks our hearts. Mothers are exploited throughout all farming practices and there is no way to do this “humanely”. The best way to value these mothers is to go vegan.

We hope you enjoy your day, whatever you are doing with your mums - and sending love to those who aren’t able to spend it with their mothers for whatever reason💚
